Sergeant Ralph Arthur Wickham from Oneida was born in Durhamville 23 July 1940. Sergeant Wickham was in the U.S. Army and was 26 and married when he died on 15 April 1967. He was wounded in action on 7 March 1967 in South Vietnam and died at Brooke General Hospital as of burns received when his tank on a convoy escort was hit by artillery/rocket fire. He was attached to the 1st Infantry Division, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Squadron. His name is located on panel 18E line 27 on the Vietnam Memorial. He is buried in Fish Creek Landing Cemetery, Vienna, New York.
