Private Janes was born 19 December 1888 and was Killed in Action at Bois des Loige Woods, France 9 October 1918 (aged 29). He was attached to Company B, 309th Infantry. He lived at 31 Phelps Street, Oneida, New York. He is buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida, New York
